DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!

We've all looked at someone and judged them. It doesn't necessarily have to be bad. You can look at someone and think they "Oh they look like such a nice guy!" We're all guilty of it. Judging someone in a negative way...or judging them by giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I've been guilty of this in several ways. There was a girl that I once judged a little harshly. At the time I was somewhat seeing a guy that she knew. He didn't always speak so highly of her which made me think a certain way about her. Now the guy turned out to be a complete D-bag. So later I met up with her and discovered she was actually really sweet and a very nice person. I felt so stupid that I took his word instead of figuring it out for myself. I should've known not to listen to him...seriously he was a D-bag.

Now there are plenty of times where I've given someone the benefit of the doubt when I shouldn't have. One was with someone I dated. He seemed to be a truly good person. Sensitive, thoughtful, caring. I learned very quickly that he might've been that way at one time or another but at the very end he was very selfish and actually kind of mean. Almost like he didn't think before he spoke. Because he certainly didn't think things all the way though before he did them. Maybe that was the real him and I was just now seeing it.

The next one is a whopper!! I meet someone who I thought might have short term potential. He wouldn't be marriage material for a couple reasons but I thought he might be OK for awhile. This guy came with some recommendations. Well I told my friend Marissa to CCAP his a$$ and see what we found. I totally thought that we wouldn't find anything...boy was I wrong!!! My friend pulled a rap sheet on this guy that would've made you blush. I couldn't believe my ears when she told me. Funny thing is, I wasn't upset. I actually just laughed. It was funny to me. I mean, my life is pure comedy!!! I can't help but laugh sometimes! I mean, you'd think that I was meeting these guys in a truck stop...but I'm not!!!

After that my friend Marissa said that she felt bad. When I asked her why, she said that I couldn't catch a break with guys. Which is kind of true but I'm trying my best not to let it get me down. Although, that's tough when you know your ex isn't as picky as you and he's off with girls. I digress....

So are you ever right when you take a first impression from someone? That's always when someone is on their best behavior. Is there ever a good time to judge a book by it's cover? And when you do...do you get it right or do you get it wrong?

I think first impressions mean a lot! However, when you're on a
1st date with a someone, you're right, they may not be truly acting the same with you as they would if you'd known them for years. So - in that instance, i never judge by a first date, unless it's horrible! ;)

Other people you meet on the street, hmmm....I don't know... I'm torn on this one. First impressions, huh? Well, i'm the type of person who gives everyone I meet, a clean slate. No judgements. Only they are the ones that can tarnish what I think of them, or mark up their slate.

Nine times out of time I usually get it right. Maybe it's just a good perception I have of people. Maybe I'm a little cynical of the "face" people put on that I can see thru it. Maybe it's just life's experiences. I don't know. I try not to pre-judge but let's face it, in the first minute or two of meeting someone, (whether it's business, personal, dating, whatever) you've already developed an impression of that person based on your past experiences.

Have to agree with rebecca on this one. People you meet on the street hmmmm...... You never know who you might run into, but you only have one chance on First impression there is no second chance on that in life!!!!!! but yes you have to start with a clean slate with everyone!!!!!!!!!
